It has been a few years ago, but at one time I did a little experimenting with a special video board and was running 2 monitors along with 2 keyboards and 2 mouses. That was simpler than switching a single board and mouse for the dual monitors.

I have a 4 position switch that controls well 4 monitors, 4 meese and 4 keyboards. Much easier than trying to swap em all the time.

You can also do that with software commands with some video boards, but remembering to do it can be interesting.
