there are 2 or 3 companies selling these fake hornets nests, and they DO work. Wasps, mud daubers, hornets, etc. are very territorial and will not come close to one of these. I was having a problem with mud daubers in my 32x40 shed, until I hung one high up about 4 or 5 feet inside each of the main doors. In the 3 years since, I occasionally find a mud nest on the door facing, but nothing else inside the entire shed, and considering how loose the sliding doors fit, and the spacing around the eaves, etc. this is amazing. You can get them from a couple different companies, but I have talked to people that hang them on porches, under eaves, etc. and they all say they work.
Yesterday I installed 3 fake wasp nests in the shop, 30' X 60' hog house that I'm using for a shop. There were a few wasps in and around the building. Today when I went to the shop, not a wasp around.
Todate, I'm impressed. Will wait until fall to fully determine the results.

nor people either.
I sat down in my lawn chair to take a break the other day and saw wasps on 3 different occasions come around the door and into the shed, and when they got where they could see one of my nests they made a u turn and left. One of them was near the ceiling, and made a dive almost to the floor and back out the door. Acted like he was really scared.

Google fake hornets nest or fake wasp nest. You will find several places to buy them as well as discussions about whether they work and why. Most garden supply places have them, usually $10 for a pack of 2. The ones I have look very similar to the ones in Barnyards link.

We will see if they work worth a darn. I certainly hope so.
Last summer needed to use my cement mixer. Hauled it to work site. Plugged in the electric motor. Only hummed. Electric motor was completely filled with mud daubber nests.
