Good bye Zippy

This morning has been kind of hard for me. When our oldest son passed away we "inherited" his dog Zippy.
Zippy has been in declining health in his advanced years. He was over 13 years old and for a shar-pei that is old.
This morning I started him on his last journey. With the aid of a very kind and caring veterinary Zippy has crossed over Rainbow Bridge and has re-joined his "daddy".
We miss our son a lot. But I know he and Zippy will be waiting along with our other canine kids that have gone on before us.

Darrell, I'm sorry to hear of your loss. Because of the close ties I am sure Zippy meant a lot more to you and Ms. Janet than most anyone could imagine.

Over the past few years Pris and I have lost both of our miniature Schnausers. It's amazing how attached we become to our 4 legged friends. They are like children.

Bonnie and I are sorry to hear of your loss. Your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.

I know Walker sniffed me over pretty good after we returned home Saturday night. More so than usual. He must have known something was up.

Our condolences to you and Miss Janet, Darrell. I know how it feels to lose one of our canine members of the family however, I can only imagine what Zippy meant to you and Miss Janet. (+)

I know how you feel Bigdog, never had a pet dog that wasn't missed. Our peach is almost 14 and a half, so it won't be near as long as it's been. Then she can be with her favorite caregiver, Grandma P. Darrell if you can find a copy of "A Dog"s Purpose" you will enjoy reading it very much, and it will help you deal with the loss. Let me know if you need to borrow my copy.

Sorry for your loss Big Dog. As you know we had to do the same with Shanny a couple of years ago. Maxwell now 14+ is also getting close to that time. For a large dog, he is ancient, but still runs pretty could. My oldest son, is gonna fall apart, that dog, has been with him forever, even in his senior pictures.
