Our 16 year old Shepherd mix dog had to be euthanized, on Tuesday. He was going blind, and deaf, and was in increasing pain, from old iniuries. My daughter adopted Willie from a veterinary clinic, about 12 years ago. He had a shattered leg, from being shot, and heartworm. The clinic had a "rescue fund" that covered most of his early bills. He was so untrusting, of humans, when he arrived here. He recovered physically, and mentally, except for a slight limp, and a slight distrust of some men. Willie was my companion, doing farm chores, and even had his own farm truck, at one point. (he let me drive it) Miss my buddy! Ed

Ed, I'm sorry to hear of your loss. A lot of people without pets don't realize how much a beloved pet means to someone. They truly are a part of the family.

Sorry to hear of your loss Ed, it is almost the same as losing a member of the family. I have several dogs over the years. It never gets any easier. But i keep signing up for a new dog, so i can enjoy their company.

Deepest condolences Ed, it is hard losing man's best friend and such an integral part of our lives and family. Keep the memories with you, they do warm your heart after the grieving is over. Well... it doesn't really stop, just changes a bit.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Our poodle is a few weeks shy of 15, so I know that day is comming. If you like to read , get a copy of "A Dog's Purpose". I think you will find it very comforting. If you like , I will put you on the waiting list for my copy.
