Re: making support rodsSweet!
Re: making support rods(last of the pics)Here's the final steps in making the braces. It requires the indexing head to be set up on the Jet mill. I mill flats on each rod that allows turning or holding each piece as it's either tightened or adjusted. The indexing head allows me to mill a flat every 90 degrees.
I line everything up so I know when I'm almost finished, plus that helps me to not forget anything. After the flats are all milled, I file each piece to remove any burrs, then into the sandblaster they go. Here's what they look like after the hot rolled slag is all blasted off. That's actual steel, not silver paint. A heavy coat of primer so they don't rust during shipping and things are almost ready to ship That's about it with the process. You can see it's just not something that can be done in a couple hours. They actually are quite time consuming, but it keeps me out of trouble and keeps my mind thinking. Thanks for viewing, Rick(KubKraft) When I told my dad I've been misplacing things and doing stupid stuff----His reply---"It only gets better"
Re: making support rods(last of the pics)Looks good Rick. I guess those can be added to this page http://www.kubkraft.com/brace_production.htm.
Barny (busy downloading pix) Ard I don't believe in taking the bull by the horns. I took a goat by the horns once and that was enough excitement for me.

Re: making support rods(last of the pics)You really do an extraordinary job. Most production outfits don't bother to blast off the mill scale before they primer or paint things. It's good to see people out there who still go the extra mile to make a top notch product. I'm very impressed!
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!! Land that I love!
