Parts Storage

Got a project that you are working on that is not a tractor? Maybe a barn to hold your tractors or just fun stuff like woodworking, glass, tools, sheds, gardens, custom implements, etc., this is the place to talk about it.

Parts Storage

Postby Bill Hudson » Wed Aug 17, 2011 9:18 pm

Folks,

I've spent time the last three days finishing the initial stage of my parts storage project. Before the pics, let me thank the following people:

Former board member, Bill Poor for offering some pallet racks for sale.
Rick Spivey beat me to them but graciously agreed to sell me what he didn't need.
Jeff Silvey for finding some really good parts storage boxes.

I wanted the boxes neat, orderly, and readily accessible. Hopefully this will meet my criteria.

The boxes with blue (very temporary) labels have "stuff" in them. The others are empty right now, but will be filled shortly. When I get it set up the way I want, I will print labels for both ends of the boxes and remove the blue labels. I've got the room and materials for one more shelf on the bottom and I've determined that I will put that shelf in tomorrow. With that shelf, and removing the tools in the plastic cases, there will be room for 48 boxes. The shelves are 12" deep by 6' long.

Looks good Bill. I wanted to get with Jeff before he left the Tug to get some of those boxes, but i slipped my mind. I looks like you have everything in order in the Cub House.

Barnyard - you might want to call him - he is headed to Portland and may be able to pick up some more.

Nice job Bill!

I don't have a "Cub House" but did get some of those totes from Jeff to use in my garage. They work real good to organize things, and when I got done my wife was impressed as well, so a win all the way around!

Thanks for sharing,
David

Nicely done Bill :!:

Those are nice storage boxes as well. Beats the heck out of square soap pails .. but one uses what one has. Now, if we had access to something like those boxes you have then storage would be a lot simpler.

Thanks Darrell, Jeff now has my order also. I am somewhat surprised you missed an opportunity to make mention of my spelling. However, I do have a tendency to let my mind slip.

Jeff is going to see if anymore are available. I can't speak for Jeff, but if anyone is interested and he will get them, I can get them from him at CI and bring them to Stonethrow.
