Re: Changes to my corn grinder New PICS.Bolted down the grinder today, and ground a half gallon of corn, for a test. A little tweaking, of the clutch pulley, and it ground the corn. Need to pick up more corn, tomorrow, for a bigger test. Ed

Re: Changes to my corn grinder New PICS.Bad enough they already don't like Yankees and you're gonna try to make friends by feeding them corn meal? I don't think it will work.

Re: Changes to my corn grinder New PICS.
Bob, I realize that humans eat corn bread, your sons demonstrated that to me, Saturday. I could only deliver stale corn bread, to Virginia, and that wouldn't make many friends. Ask your sons, Hot, from the oven, is best! Ed 50 ,52,53,56,59 F Cubs, 55,55,57,63,63 fast hitch, 64 lo-boys, 71 154, 184 lo-boy,61 cadet original. IH spreader,IH corn grinder, Oli. Re: Changes to my corn grinder New PICS.Can you make johnnycakes out of yeller corn?? Kenyon makes it with white corn.... well they do have Martha Stewart onboard.

Re: Changes to my corn grinder New PICS.
You can use the yeller corn meal, for Johnnyckes. I hate the Rhode Island Flint corn, used by Kenyon's. I don't think it has much flavor. Hard as a rock, to grind too. There's a guy at Swamp Yankee Days, who grows and grinds Rhode Island Flint corn. Julia Child preferred Gray's,meal, from Adamsville. (down the road from the "chicken plaque" ) That's Rhode Island Flint, too. They asked me to grow it, for them, a few year back. Can't, because of too much corn pollen in the air, here, that would cause cross breeding. There would be yellow kernels scattered through the ears. Re: Changes to my corn grinder New PICS.Ha ha, actually I spoke to the owner a couple of years back and their white flint(?) corn comes from VA. Not real Indian corn, with the cross pollination problem. Probably nearly impossible to grow most anywhere these days, always some modern corn within pollination distance.

Re: Changes to my corn grinder New PICS.Gray's actually still uses the original Rhode Island Flint corn, or did, last time I spoke to the owner. They were going to come to one of our shows, and sell Johnnycakes, but never showed up. Ed

Re: Changes to my corn grinder New PICS.I wish you were closer. I could get some really good yellow corn this fall. My great-uncle has some open pollinated from his father, and it makes about the best cornbread I have ever eaten---but we can't find anyone here locally to grind it.

IH's are RED. Just say NO to yellow and white! Let us pray for farmers and all who prepare the soil for planting, that the seeds they sow may lead to a bountiful harvest.
Re: Changes to my corn grinder New PICS.Shipping charges would make it a bit pricey, wouldn't it? Hey, ship it here, I'll grind and eat it, and tell you how good it was! Only cost half as much, that way! Ed
