vmc 44 restored
after I finished with the cooler, went looking for another one a little more challenging.... came across this vmc44 from the 50's all the mechanics were locked up, coin mechanism was missing parts, didn't realize the hole inside until I disassembled it.

With as much interest as there is in restored Coke machines, I wouldn't be surprised if there are repro parts and mechanicals available.

Re: vmc 44 restored
oh there are plenty of parts used and repo out there... I just didn't have the spare $$, also wanted to try to keep her as original as possible, so I just disassembled the whole thing, cleaned and repaired each part, only needed a few parts that were missing

Re: vmc 44 restored
more pics... I was extremely lucky someone gave the inside a few coats of silver paint instead of cleaning it, was able to carefully remove the paint and the original galvanized finish was in great shape for its age, so I clear coated over that

Re: vmc 44 restored
The coin unit looks very similar to the ones used in payphones about 25 to 30 years ago.
