A friend of mine was saving me some feed sacks to put corn in and I went and got them a couple weeks ago at a farm he leases. Looked around the side of the barn and this sprayer frame was laying there with only one boom arm on it. I ask him about finding out if the people who owned it wanted to sell it. He said he'd find out and let me know. About a week later he said they told him I could have it for free. I am going to redo it and get it back going so I can spray about 25 acres that has briars in it pretty bad. I hate borrowing equipment to do something so I'll put a few hundred in this and have my own. This one has the fast hitch on it and 3 point hitch. I know the Cub won't pick it up with water in it but I can move it around empty with it. The 4630 Ford will handle it just fine and I have an idea how to attach a fast hitch on it

Depends on what you want. Investigate a 12 volt sprayer with boom.

I have a 15 gallon sprayer on my zero turn (made a rack above engine and it sits in it) and made an 8 foot boom to spray my driveway. It's just not big enough to do the farm. The farm is hilly as well, to hilly for the mower. Here's a picture of the mower and tank minus the boom.

No matter which pump or tank you select, do your self a favor and install a boomless sprayer nozzle. This eliminates the booms and sprayer heads. No nozzles to unclog and no boom to hit fences, trees, and everything else. The new nozzle will cover the same area as a boom.
I switched my 55 gal sprayer similar to yours over a few years ago and never looked back.

I have never heard of a boomless nozzle until you mentioned it. Thank you! I just looked at videos of them and I think that is the way to go. For what I'm gonna be doing with it it will work great. Plus the cost will be less than fittings, hose and nozzles.

I would consider making a trailer mounted sprayer unit, mostly because I have several old boat trailers in my unused scrap, "junk pile".

Uncle had one, but he farmed around 1000 acres. Uncle would spend a couple of days "burning down" weeds and grass that emerged in the early spring on crop land.

My 15 gallon, 12 volt, ATV type sprayer, is bolted to a 3 point hitch carrier, mounted on a WD Allis Chalmers. Used for spraying fence line and spot spraying.

My note. It takes me around 3 hours to spray 15 gallons. Probably 5 hours by the time I get the sprayer set up, spraying, then the clean up. Makes for a long tiring day for an old guy.

Made a bracket on the back to bolt a nipple to mount the boomless nozzle on. I'm ready for paint and plumbing. Thank you BIGHOSS for the boomless nozzle suggestion. For what I'm going to spray and where, it will be way better than regular booms. Your suggestion saved me a lot of time, material and $$$$$.

Got the nipple made for the barrel out of stainless. Couldn't find a free barrel with removable top so I made a nipple and fished it from the top into the hole I drilled after installing a rubber grommet.

I guess I should make a pic of mine, but too old and lazy.
I used a plastic enclosed drum turned upside down. That lets the bung be on the bottom for draining.
I drilled holes on top for filling hose and bypass hose.

Went over to a friends the other day and saw this sprayer sitting there. I ask him about it and he said I'll take what I have in it, $40. I figured the selector valve was worth that not to mention the 14 spray nozzles. I have another friend who is getting me a 110 gallon saddle tank off a road tractor and this one is getting replaced. I am gonna mount the boomless spray nozzle in the middle and have the option of boom spray not so wide or boomless spray @50 feet wide.

Got this sprayer wire brushed and painted, trying to find a saddle tank off a road tractor 90-110 gallon now. Got the boomless nozzle on the back and the spray booms on as well. Can do 18' with booms down, 9' one side or 50' with the boomless nozzle. This will work well for what I need.

Found a saddle tank off a road tractor on the Craigslist and went and picked it up yesterday. Hopefully get it installed and ready in the next week or two.

I thought about polishing the tank but it’s gonna sit outside so I didn’t.

Al I need now is some 1” supply hose, a cut off and a pump. Was able to use the drain in the bottom and retap it for a 1” elbow. Used the old supply port for the agitation hose and the old vent hole for a vent that was in the original tank. This thing is ready to go home.
