Meaning of words

Postby Bus Driver » Sun Jun 02, 2013 6:39 am

One day Noah Webster, the famous lexicographer, was in his office and his secretary was sitting in his lap. Suddenly in walked Mrs. Webster. "Noah Webster! I am surprised!"
"No, my dear, you are astonished, I am surprised".

Disclaimer: There is no reason to believe that this is at all a true story. Noah Webster was well known as a person of high moral integrity.
