Do it yourself!

Postby Barnyard » Tue Jun 03, 2014 6:59 pm

Our local community has a Face book page where you can ask just about anything.

This one caught my eye.
"My motivated 19 year old daughter is looking for part time and occasional babysitting and house cleaning jobs to help
offset her college tuition. Responsible and has references."

If the daughter is really motivated, why didn't she post this herself?
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

My oldest son Jeremy was in high school and had just gotten driver license and of course was lookin for a outdoor job. He put in application all over and was finding nothing. We were leaving house one evening and I spotted Mr Tom Casey a local gentleman farmer. I asked Jeremy if farm hand work sounded ok? " Anything but wal mart Dad " I wheeled into neighbors drive where they were fence post discussing the worlds problems. I introduced Jeremy to Tom n told Tom the boy can do most any farm chore work. Tom said "Hello Jeremy look like a big strappin boy, and I can use a hand but one question for you" "Does your dad want you to get a job or do you want a job? Jeremy answered I want a job so I can pay my own way. Tom said then meet me at 8am in morning at the main gate to my place .Jeremy worked on Toms farm several yrs till his passing and was kept on as farm hand by Toms son and widow until Jeremy moved on to a career as a mechanic.
