17th Annual Cub-Arama

Postby IHgirl » Sat Sep 01, 2018 6:59 pm

Wanted to take the time and invite everyone out to our 17th show
This years show will start with a set up day on Thursday, September 27 and full show days on 28 & 29, 2018.
Show is held in downtown Fredericktown, MO (about 85 miles south of St. Louis)
The show is open to anything IH; however Cub and Cub Cadet are always the main feature.
Please let me know if you plan to attend. Help spread the word to any of your friends and family. The more the merrier.
Bring your extra items for the swap meet as well. If anyone is interested in hosting a how to clinic let me know, or if you have a topic you need help with I am sure we can find someone to instruct for us.
If you are an IH vender of anything let me know if you would like to set up - folks always enjoy shopping.

For the "regulars" what are some of your favorite things to do or events you like to participate in and want to keep going; parade, tractor cruise, slow race, kiddie pull, Friday dinner etc.

Any new ideas - feel free to share. Always looking for new activities to try and keep interest.

Jamie, Rosanne and I will roll in Wednesday afternoon. I will contact you a day or two before we leave.

I will be there, but on a limited basis. I will drop off a tractor or two on Thur. then be back for the full day on Sat., but as things stand now, will be unable to come on Friday, though that is subject to change as time passes. I can do the Saturday Tinker Time, but do not presently if I can be there for it Friday or not. Probably not.

Looking forward to seeing all of the great people that make Cubarama so special. There have been so many years of friendship, fun and learning. Tell a friend about this fine event. We can always use another friend!

The city is rehabbing the park, so we will have to set up in different spots than usual this year.

The popularity of tractor shows as well as membership in tractor clubs has been dropping off over the last few years. Our local tractor club membership has dropped by 30% over the last 4 years. I encourage anyone to come to this that can. So far as I know, there are no commercial sponsors, Jamie does all this on here own. All the support we can give her helps.

This is true here as well. We've had 3 smaller shows within 45 minutes from us stop in the past 6-7 years. There is another one that got started about 4 years ago but it's always the weekend of my wife and I's wedding anniversary so we are usually gone. I tried to get the guy that headed it up to have it in the spring since the fall most people are making hay, cutting beans, corn, or deer hunting, (mainly me deer hunting, lol). I told him he'd have better turn out in the spring because people been working on a project all winter and are ready to show it off but he still has it in the fall.

It's a good thing that the area that has the sod removed won't be used this year and that we're setting up a bit different. We're getting pounded as I type this by heavy rains. It's rained almost non-stop from yesterday evening and is supposed to continue all day today. I think this the remnants from Gordon as it makes it's way up north.

I normally do the Tinker Time on Friday and Saturday, but do not think I will make it Fri., and between time and health my Tinker Time may not be up to normal. I plan to bring the stuff to do the ignition theory course again if people want that. Will also have a timing light that will time tractors with only one timing mark, and a tester that will check rpm and spark voltage, plus one to verify charging rates if anyone wants to check their ammeter.
