For those of you who have not had them, Cheese Curds are about the best there is. Maybe I could be coaxed to make some fried curds for the Tug this year. All I would need would be Billy Ray's Catfish Cheek Fryer, and I would be GOOD to go!!

However... you should come to the Cheesy fest to have them in the correct setting!!

Hey Mike, as I let you know, I won't be able to make it this year, but hope to next time.

You had better get going on setting up the fried cheese curd fryer. Now you must do this :D :D

Eat some extra ones for me.

Have a good time :)

Sure wish you could make it, Mike, but I know how things come up! We'll save a spot for you next year!!! I can't believe that you would VOLUNTARILY come up to cold Swissconsin from Sunny Arizona!

Ifn they don't squeak then they ain't so fresh. I like em right out of the bag as long as they are fresh. In Quebec they call em poutine when curds, gravy and french fries are melded together (I can't eat that - poutine to me is totally different).

Now mind you, having fried cheese curds is something that I ain't never heard of .. but you can pass along the recipe Mike  I would like to try them.

The best way to eat curds is fresh out of the vat, right after the salt has been mixed in. All though I don't know any where you can get them that way any more. I do like them deep fried and fresh out of the bag when less then 2 days old. I think after they've been refrigerated they lose about 50% of there goodness.

I am so excited and can hardly wait until next Thursday. Next year we can bring our turkey fryers and do a fish and cheese curd fry :). This year Lindy and I had the best Ice Fishing year ever. We had to give alot of fish away to stay legal** I am leaving Friday to go to Crandon for opener Walleye fishing! Call Lindy whenever you want to go up to the Shack with your tractors. Brosie

There is a little town called Zitteau about 20 minutes from me. A family owned small cheese factory, Union Star, that makes fresh curd you can buy right out of the vat when salt gets mixed in.
I have to be there around 5am to buy it that way

Hey there, Brosie!

Thanks for posting to this thread! I am getting psyched. I have gotten at least three or four folks from fairly local who are coming, so it looks to be a good crowd coming this year.

I'm gonna have to stock up on the Bratwurst for the lunch on Saturday... I can't wait!!!

YIKES!! How the heck are we going to get all of that HEAVY stuff out of the bed of the truck without your loader there to do it? Roland isn't going to be there to do the heavy lifting!!

Eat your wheaties!

I lifted them all into the truck bed with dad's help! Big Red and the loader stayed home last night when we went to my implement stash location!!
