Would there be time for me to drag my Cub power unit off my combine up on Saturday morning for a tuneup? IE plugs, points, probably clean the carb out good. I haven't cranked it in over a year and I might try to pick a few rounds of wheat with it this year. This is assuming I can get time to get it off the combine, and there is some equipment to lift it on and off my truck, unless we want to work on it in the bed of my truck....

Boss, you still got that other backer setter I didn't have room for last year? ;)

Al

Boss,

the reason I asked that was that my wife and I were talking about your fest the other day and it dawned on me, I still have a tobacco setter at the Waller! I am getting so forgetful I am thinking about keeping an index card in my truck with directions from school to home written on it, just in case!! 8)

See you soon,
Al

I have some Hydraulic blocks and some pumps, and a couple transmissions. If I can swing purchasing the kit for the block, and get the kits for the pumps, I would like to play with them is the spare time. Just something to do.

I know Dale F. is a pro on how to's on them, might make a good demo. I do them here all the time, but am not good at explaining. I also have a couple that could be torn down by newbee's, if they learn best by hands on like I do. not a problem if it does not go back together correctly :big afro:

Same with the transmissions.

If someone wants to purchase a kit for one, or 2 lol, these blocks can be purchased inexpensively. I think I have 3 that were working before removal, but have been sitting and should be serviced and cleaned before being reinstalled. Same for the Transmissions.

Dale, I was thinking about doing a transmission or TC myself for spares, but may be too tied up with my front transmission seal replacement. However, if things work out I'd be happy to help and/or document! I am definitely a person who learns best by doing.

Boss, do you have (dumb question here) the taps and stuff to heli-coil carb inlets and manifold holes? I have one carb that looks good, but the threads are crooked and it always leaks.

How about the four bolts/screws that go in the bottom of the hood into the bolster. Mine are all broken and if there's time and space that be great :D

Boss, after I dropped the oil pan on my neighbor's 55 cub and found lots of metal shavings, I told him it looked like a major problem. Being tight on funds, he hasn't decided what he will do right now, so it will not be coming up for a 6 to 12v conversion. Only my '52 for the new front transmission seal.

Just for my info...how much would a "new" engine cost?

See you in a few days!

Dale, check with Tim (TST) He may have a used engine, and is going to the Waller. Ed
