Me and my sidekicks had a great time today up in Longmont with Bob McCarty. I believe the boys had a better time rounding up grasshoppers, but they had a good time none the less!!

Thanks for the pictures, Raymo. Any of those Bob's tractors?

Roy, The square nose in the first picture is my '66. The paint is nowhere near what it looks like in the photo.

Some nice pics Raymond, lots of interesting tractors - some real neat ones. This however has to be one of my favourites .. the patina, the style - the McCormick blade, just an honest looking Cub that has worked hard and needs some TLC :D

Bob, yours is a cutie ...

Certainly looks great in the picture, Bob. I'll inspect it in person in a few days.

Rudi, I took the pic from its "good" side! This poor Cub has lived a hard life. It was donated to the club for the auction. I left before the auction started so I don't know how much it brought, but I can't imagine I went too high. It had no carb, so no one knew if it ran. Three of the tires were bad. The engine ear was cracked up through the oil pressure relief valve, and through the coolant hose hole. It did have a 189 latch bar, and a 22 mower pulley installed, but it had nails drove into the splines to tighten it up.
I did get some numbers off of it! :D

The Cub went for $625, and since I didn't need a parts tractor with a busted engine, my hand didn't go up.

What about the Livy?

Raymond, The Livy went for $325. But, I know the guy who was bidding on it and he flips tractors a lot. I talked to him afterwards and he said he had bought it for someone. I have no idea where he would have bowed out. It took them about 5 minutes to find neutral so they could load it. I'm guessing the guy that donated it found some significant problems in the tranny that he either couldn't fix, or couldn't afford to have fixed.

A shame that Cub was so abused and in such poor shape. Glad that it will live on - at least in the database :)
