Well where do we start
The mill came out of Jethro. Jethro was essentially a parts tractor that I got for $100.00 from a friend whose family left it out in the weather for years with a cap or a can on the exhaust. I knew from the gitgo that Jethro was in pretty sorry shape.
Jethro's RestorationI took him apart just before CubFest Northeast 2004 and the mill has been in my cabinet shop since getting shots of ATF and Solvo-Rust whenever I remembered. When I hauled the engine down, I had some hopes that the engine was salvageable but ... nope, it tweren't,
. It is simply too darned expensive to rebuild that block when Art has a good engine for a few Franklins.
There was a bent rod .. not sure how that happened .. I guess they ran it without oil in it.
We did manage to salvage a little bit from the engine .. oil filter screen, pickup tube, pan, crank, bunch of valves that are going to get redone, hydraulic pump that was rebuilt at Cecil's. The clutch and fly wheel went with Edward
I think that is pretty much about it.
Didn't want to bring it back to the block itself is now part of Cecil's recycling pile ...
Alls well that ends well... Jethro is definitely gone to Cub Parts Heaven.
