IH Collectors Chapter 37 Plow Day

Postby Super A » Sun Oct 12, 2014 9:51 pm

Eastern NC IH Collectors had our fall plow day this past Saturday. We had about a dozen tractors show up, had some fantastic food, and spectacular weather. Had several Cubs and plenty of other Cultivision tractors:

One of the longstripes had some ignition issues and had to call it a day fairly early.

Old Ugly and IH #215 fast hitch plow-2x14" bottoms. It's a pretty good load for a Super A, this plow was really meant for the 140s. But it does well with it as long as you're sensible!

Sweet Cub and IH tandem disk. The little disk did a good job!

1942 H from PA....a bona fide war tractor.....no electric anything and no rubber tires!

Looks like you're turning over already-plowed ground. CHEATING!!! :D

It had been disked several days prior. The owners had an 806 disking after it was plowed to level the clods. We broke every bit of it twice and part of the field a third time. Part of this field has some pretty tight clay in it--unusual for eastern NC--and even after being broke once it pulled HARD.

Nice pictures. That 23-A tandem sure does look nice. Hoping to get mine redone next summer... :D
