Half Century of Progress Show in Rantoul, Ill. 2015

Postby rjfcsa » Wed Jan 07, 2015 7:59 pm

Hello All,
Would like to add this show to the calendar. Was wondering if any here were thinking of going.
We will be there, God willing, with our Cub setup with our hammer mill and sheller, and a bunch of my sisters fast hitch equipment. So if anyone is looking to go to a VERY big show I would like to meet some of you. We set up a little away from the tent city as we are demonstrating the mill and sheller, and don't want to get all the show tractor all dusty.
I hope to take my 50-AW cub engine baler there. Might not be any hay to bale there but I will have it sitting there at any rate.

I remember the Red Power Roundup a few years ago in that area. The club who hosted it and everyone there were great, but be prepared to get screwed by the motels in that area. They did not honor their reservation prices, people were lined up across the lobbies and out the doors complaining about the jack up in prices. I even heard the manager at ours chewing out a clerk for honoring a serviceman's discount that was passing through the area.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

It's definitely on my bucket list! It'll depend on the timing of when school starts.

Got my reservations made right after the show in 2013. The only bad thing about the show is that it only happens every other year. I don't know where else you could see all the action that goes on at this show.

John,
That's too bad, I had not heard about that. I has been quite a few years, 13, since that was here. I don't know if it has been a problem during this show or not. I am only 15 miles from the show so I hotel it at home   Champaign, ILL is only 15-20 miles from the show and they should have several hotels in the area. The web site might list some options.

There is a LOT of action at this show and lots of room. If anyone wants to set up near us feel free. We are taking my loader cub, my sisters 55 cub. Dads #30 sheller and my sister 4-E hammer mill. Also a few of my sisters fast hitch implements. Right now the ones on the list is her rotary hoe, spring tooth harrow, if I get it painted her one row 184 planter, and if I get it fixed up we just got a hold of a one point peg tooth harrow she would like to take. We have a few other implements but these are the one I am thinking of. We have a two way plow but I could leave it at home. Of course we are taking the platform carrier as we need that to ride on. :D
