DSCF Thank You

Postby Don McCombs » Sun Feb 15, 2015 8:07 am

My thanks to Mary, Roy, Billy Ray, Raymond, Tim, Jim and all the others who made this years\'s Cubfest another great one. Special thanks to Billy Ray for the near perfect weather. Maybe next year you could bump the thermostat up by 10 or 15 degrees? :D

I would like to add my heartfelt THANKS , also! My projects were completed with LOTS of help and patience from everyone! Thanks you to all who twisted wrenches, wire brushed parts, checked timing & soldered tubing, as well as those who "supervised" and gave advice!! Can't wait for 2016!

I'm 4 hours into a 12 hour drive home...will arrive tomorrow. Then I have the great "fortune" of joining you snowbirds in Michigan for 2-3 weeks! AAAAARRRRRGGGHHHHH!! :big what:

Yes, a big thank you to all that made it a great weekend for us. Roy, Miss Mary, Billy Ray, General Jim, Raymond, and Tim, did a great job of hosting us this weekend. It just doesn't get much better. I also want to thank the propane guy for making our motel stay more comfortable. Of course I want to extend a special thanks to the crew who helped load the trailer. :D

We got home about an hour ago. We rushed as fast as we could so we wouldn't miss out on this beautiful ten degree weather. Mel moved out just before we got in and the dogs about knocked us down greeting us home.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Let me add my thanks, as well. An outstanding event.

Left yesterday right after lunch and pulled in this morning at 6:10 AM. Just shy of 1000 miles. I was going to go until I felt tired and then hole up until the morning. I didn't get tired and was able to drive straight through. :{_}: :{_}:

Don,

Clear and dry until the last 100+ miles, then varied between wet and snow covered. Between 4:30 and 6:00 AM on a Sunday morning you have the road to yourself, so, if needed, driving anywhere from one side of the road (freeway) to the other was not a problem.

Saw several snow plows along the roads waiting to be put into action should the need arise. I counted three in the mountains north of Knoxville.

Thanks to Roy and the family; as well as the entire DSCF crew for the best Cubfest yet. My son and I had a great time as usual and we are already arguing about who gets to come down with me next year.

I have to chime in with a great big thank you to Roy, Mary and all the supporting cast. Ms Connie and I had a wonderful time and look forward to seeing the gang next year if not before.

My thanks to all the crew for another great DSCF. Slept in this morning and got home about 5:30 with half an inch of new snow and still falling.

As everyone has said, thanks to all. Candy and I had a great time, as usual, and the 50's and 60's temps sure beat the zero we came home to. Got through Tennessee and Kentucky yesterday before they got hit today with their ice and snow.
