I would think the 49 route would be quickest. If you want to do Vicksburg then Hwy 27, 27 is two lane and a rather scenic route if that interests you. It is a little curvy, but good Hwy. Probably take a little longer.

Is HWY 98 that goes from Alexandra to Bogalusa two lanes?

If you are referring to US 98, some of it is 2 lanes and some is 4 lanes. A current map with a good legend will show which part is 2 lanes/4 lanes.

Ahoy Buddy, I'm arriving in Bogalusa Thursday to accommodate JoAnn and her friends. My Project is to remove and install bearings in Flail Mower roller, and work on roller shaft. you offered to purchase or provide a flail mower belt number B144 which I would like to pick-up. Also PTO pulley insert or adapter, seat and post. I look forward to observing brake and steering repair. We look forward to participating in the "fun and games" of another fine CUB FEST. CHET SENDS

Chet, with a lot of help at DSCF, I just replaced those roller bearings in my Mott Flail mower. Not sure if you already have the new bearings, but I got a pair from Flail-Master...around $46 each, +/-. They were #M-102002, and Flail-Master had another number, #48/60/72.

One issue I had was that the new bearings did not require pressing on, they could just be pushed on. The solution the "guys" (can't remember names :( ) who helped came up with was to make several punch marks on the shaft, then use a bearing "glue", such as Loctite's Bearing Mount 620. I think it worked quite well. :D

FYI, there is a HOW TO by Spaceghost showing one way of removing the shaft/bearings from the roller:
http://farmallcub.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=149&t=54181
I had the tools to do it that way, but we used a "disposable" nut on one end to drive the shaft out! Worked, but do be very careful, because those threads are fine threads, and I needed to chase one side to repair a nick so I could get the shaft reinstalled.

The good news was that it got done, and works GREAT!! :{_}: Thank you to all you guys who helped me!

Photo almost looks like there is snow outside, but the short sleeve shirts would say otherwise.

Looking forward to sharing some time and meet some of you tomorrow. Not sure what time things kick off in the morning but we should be there around 10am. Safe travels everyone.
