Motox Tractor?

Postby Steve.43 » Tue Nov 22, 2005 5:41 pm

Anybody ever heard of a tractor brand-named "Motox?" It supposedly was built in Wabash, IN, about 1919, and was somehow related to two other tractors named "Plano" and "Wabash." It used a Buda engine. I live near Wabash, IN, and a friend and I are attempting to find information, literature, stories (true ones only, please), and, if possible, one of the tractors if one has survived the past 86 years. If anyone has anything at all to contribute, we'd be grateful. Please email me at this address: or call me at 765-981-2237.

Standard Catalog of Farm Tractors 1890 to 1960 by C.H. Wendel, page 433.

The 12-24 Motox tractor first appeared in 1917. Initial price $1850. 4 cylinder Buda engine, 4 1/4 and5 1/2 inch bore/stroke. One forward and reverse speed. Sometime in 1919 the Motox was taken over by Wabash Tractor Company.
