Lawn mower exhaust stack

Postby Scott » Wed Apr 05, 2006 6:08 pm

I have a wheelhorse lawn tractor and was just thinking about a different exhaust. Is there a place that sells exhaust stacks like the cub but smaller for lawn tractors :?: Thanks for the replys

Scotty,

The exhaust on the Cub is nothing more than pipe. Take the exhaust from the Wheelhorse to the "Pipe Store" and buy a length of pipe to match.

If you're looking for a vertical muffler try http://www.smallengineparts.com and see what they have available.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

With a couple of fittings you could easily plumb up a vertical exhaust on just about anything.

When the Cub Cadet original mufflers wear out I replace them with a universal muffler. hanging on the wall, from the autoparts store.

The exhaust pipe, a nipple and lock nut, plus an elbow and a shorter nipple is purchased from the local hardware store.

Scotty D
Some people use the cross mount muffler (from the exhaust port on the left across the front of the engine to exit on the right) used on some models of the 10-12-14 hp Cub Cadets as the muffler for a stack exhaust. These are available from Cub Cadet dealerl for about $27. The muffler is about the size of a Cub muffler, with a side inlet and a short, straight , centered, outlet. There is one on eBay if you want to see what it looks like

All the pipe fittings in the picture do not come with the new muffler.

Scotty, check with your local NAPA, they will have them, or would get them, ours has something just like the one that Paul posted, just in case you don't have a cadet dealer close by....

Hey Scotty...Brian Miller in Columbia, MO (573) 875-4033 sells a SUPER NICE custom exhaust pipe and brace (about $25.00) for Kohler engines that a standard Cub Cadet style muffler can be attached to.
