Need deere sickle bar mower points.

Postby WJ » Fri May 12, 2006 7:09 pm

I need to find 3 or 4 points for a Deere #8 or #9 sickle bar mower. I need the points not the knives. My local dealer says no longer available.

Sorry to ask about green parts ,but you guys always come through for me.

Thanks
If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use duct tape.

TSC has them. For a cub too.

You'll need to keep one of your JD points in your glove compartment, and hope to find a "tractor graveyard" in your area that will have the points you need. Sometimes they show up on Ebay, but not often.

Implement dealer near me has the mower guards. The ones marked for John Deere have the number 700 cast in them. Kondex and Herschel-Adams offer sickle mower parts. Lots of implement dealers have one or both lines.
