IH sickle bar

Postby prjones » Sat Sep 30, 2006 1:47 pm

I looked at an International Sickle Bar that I would like to use on MF 165. Asking price 550.00 it looks good, But I know nothing. Any help on what I should look for or ask owner? And how does price sound? thanks

is it a 3pt :?: is it a balanced head or pitman :?: in my area, ifn all parts are there, and no welds, that would be a great price for a balanced head sickle

IH made the 25V... an 8 foot, rear-mounted sickle bar, with a rear trailing wheel. It bolted to the drawbar of most larger tractor models (IH "M", "H",etc) and attached to the rear PTO drive. It also had a hydraulic cylinder that could attach to "live" or the touch control hydraulics to raise and lower the bar. Does this describe the sickle bar mower you're looking at?

No. This was for a 3 point hitch. I could not find model number on it. But did say International. Spoke to owner he knew about as much as me bought it several years ago used it once or twice sat in barn for last 2 years. Appeared to be in good shape but I passed on it. Still sitting by road last time I went by.

It would likely be an IH C28 mower.
