I have a friend that has a 36A Loader for his 1010 john Deere. A guy offered him $1000 for the loader but my friend doesn't exactly know the value of the loader.
I was wondering if any of you would know any information on this loader and/or the value of it.
thank you so much

Amanda,
$1000 is about right for a 36A loader. ($1500 in very good shape) As for as I know the 36A loader only fits on the JD 1010, 2010 and the 460.
I had a 1965 2010 industrial Backhoe which is very similar to the 1010. Supposedly the 1010 and the 2010 were the worst tractors JD made and they didn’t make very many of them compared to other tractors of that style.
The biggest issues of the 1010 and the 2010 were; they brought out a new engine that wasn’t proven that was very hard to start in the winter and older type transmissions (no shuttle shift transmissions) like other makes had.
I bought mine at an auction for $2500 in 1980 in good shape where as a Massey Ferguson 40 industrial backhoe (Massey’s compatible tractor to the JD 2010 went for $8200) because of the advanced features it had over the 2010.
The next line of tractors JD brought out was the 3010 and 4010 and they were updated to be competitive.
I really like the 2010 I had and it gave me good service. I later sold it for the same price I bought it for.
