Looks like a project to be proud of. is that a continental engine power unit on it?

Could you get any work out of it? How did you gear it down?

Does anyone else have pictures of homemade tractors to share? This is an idea that has intrigued me for quite some time and I intend to build a tractor when I get my workshop built.

Scott:

Here are a couple of pics of my father-in-law's putt-putt. Dad and his father-in-law, Olivier, built 3 of these, each slightly different depending on what parts they either had or could get cheaply.

Dad used to farm taters and veggies with this Putt-Putt for 30 years anyways... and Em and I made our gardens with it until I got Ellie...

Great pic's!
Rudi, I just dug up one of those scoops in my yard  . The wood handles are toast, but the rest looks to be pretty sound.

It was made with odds & ends cutting was done with oxy-acty. torch,(including cutting 10" from each side of axle) and welder,--no machine tools were used! this little thing was a powerhouse -----wasn't a speedwagon, had it geared a little low! Used 48" cadett mower deck under it for several years! had a couple grader blades, a potato shovel, 48" homemade front blade! thanks; sonny
