I dont know if it will run or even if it turns over, its sat for many years, it may be locked up. Any wahy, anyone know the value ? i was thinkig at least scrap price.

John:

The Schramm Air Compressors are a neat rig. I haven't seen a tag along one yet, but I have seen them with IH Letter Series frames and the Schramm conversion. They are kinda cool.

Got a pic?

Here is a few pics of Johnny Stevenson's Schramm Schramm Pneumatractor

Here is a pic of one that George Willer tried for and missed.. pic courtesy of George Willer

There is some more info in the Rudi thread and some more in the Farmall or International what? thread.

Hope this helps a tad.

If you can get me a picture I will try and help you out. Is this a ford V8? Flathead? I just go back home from being at the Schramm factory to pick up a couple of compressors for the Historical Construction Equipment Association. One was a tag-a-long compressor.

If you do not take it let me know some information, we may need some parts.

Thanks,
Jim Arras

Yes it is a flathead v8, not sure if it is Ford or not.

John,
Most likely it is a Ford. It is what they call the " Fordair 60" . This is a 60 CFM at 100 PSI. Was a very good compressor that you could get parts from Ford or Schramm. Some parts are still available, I will post a picture of the one I picked up later this evening.

Hi Jim,

I'm really pleased you've found farmallcub.com. Welcome!

I've been unable to attend any shows this year for health reasons, so I missed seeing you at your Findlay show.

The picture above of the pneumatractor above is just like yours, as far as I know. It was sold by sealed bids at Maple Grove and I submitted a bid on it and the Allis model D grader partly visible behind it.

I'm sure the folks here would like to know more about your restored Pneumatractor as well as the Schramm crawler in your avatar. Please post pictures when you can.

Hello George,

I was looking for you at Findlay, we had a good show with nice weather this year. The Schramm crawler is a 1948 with a flathead Ford V8. This is a 60 CFM compressor at 100 PSI., runs on four and compresses on four. The Pneumatractor is a 1972 model 160, this is 160 CFM at 100 PSI., Runs on three compresses on on three. Here is a link to some pictures of the Schramms

http://www.flickr.com/photos/18941294@N08/

The Crawler and Pneumatractor is mine, the tag-a-long and Fordson-Schramm belongs to the HCEA that I just hauled back from Schramm Inc. in West Chester, PA.

John, This should look something like the one you are looking at, I will help you out any way I can.

Jim,

Yes , that is it but it has rubber tires and it is rusty, no paint at all, I dont know if the motor is free or locked up. It has the Schramm emblem on top of the hood.

What would this be worth ?

The Company that I work was scrapping out a lot of old equiptment and I told them if they were going to scrap it I wanted to buy it. I see they moved it to the area of things that they are keeping, so I dont know if they kept it for me or not. If I knew what it might be worth, I could give them an offer.

John,

That is always a tough question, condition is the big key, the sheet metal is no problem. The engine is the big one, you can get parts for them, but where do you stop and make it a parts machine. If you could get it for scrap price, you would do good, other than that post a couple of pictures so I can see what it looks like and maybe it could go higher. I just hope the block is not broke, that gets harder to find another one, they are around just more work for you.

Take care,
Jim

John,
I have been busy lately and not much time for the computer. Did you get the compressor?

John, If you get it let me know if you need information on it. If you decide not to buy it let me know as I am looking for some parts, or a complete engine.

Michael, I was at Schramm this past August when I picked up some compressors from them for the HCEA. Had a nice factory tour, spent 5 or 6 hours there.
