Re: New Tractor Northern ToolI do not have the experience of people such as Ricky Racer, Rick Prentice, etc. but I do learn a lot form listening and reading other people. Between that and personal experience, it appears that what you get form China, India, etc. depends on what you are willing to pay for. Both will make you cheap junk or good quality, depending on what you want. Unfortunately, many companies are buying the cheap junk and selling it in the US for the same price as they did quality made items.

Re: New Tractor Northern ToolOperate two wheeled drive tractor in the Ozark steep hills. Most of the neighbors have wide front ends on their tractors, for stability. I agree with Bill's thoughts, suggestions. I would be looking for an older US made tractor in good working condition with dealership support in the area. Stumps. I have cleared off a brushed over area including some pretty good sized trees. I still have few stumps that I'm waiting to rot enough to remove. I mark the stump(s) with steel posts. I can see the steel posts when I mow the area, a pasture, two or three times a season. I have an excuse. CRS.
Re: New Tractor Northern ToolI was going to buy one but spotted a used Green 1050 with a bucket and a 6 foot brush hog for $8000.00 including front weights. That was 5 years ago. I have had to buy parts filters, head light bulb, work lite bulb, oil, hydro fluid and a 3 point hitch back hoe. I have used and abused this sucker and it it is still going fine.

Re: New Tractor Northern ToolThe son-in-law bought a 35 hp Kioti with hydrostatic drive a couple of years ago and has had great luck with it. Local dealer and great service and no problem getting parts. The injector pump was replaced under warranty and that has been the only problem. I use it to cut our grass and it works great. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Re: New Tractor Northern ToolI bought a brand new Mahinddra with a loader. Wished i would have bought front wheel assist. But found i really dont need it. I have 35 HP. Parts, regular maintainance stuff i can get at any local car parts store, OEM i get in 1 - 2 days. Dealers are trained in serving them. I have the service manual myself, so i can also work on it, with help of my friends here. I have had it for 5 yrs and have had 0 problems, other than water in fuel. I got that fixed myself, and i pinched off the steering lines, i had OEM parts in 2 days. The emergency flashers switch went bad initially, replaced under warranty in 2 days. Love it. Would do it again, and would recommend it. They are the most sold tractor in the world. Built in india. Taught how to build tractors by CaseIH. Nomenclature very similiar to a cub. Very easy to work on. Mine does all the heavy work around the place. while my cubs do the little stuff. I also considered one of them chinese tractors for about 30 seconds, the support is scared me. As there was none. Go mahindra if you want new, or do like Big Dog said, go Kubota or american used.
Re: New Tractor Northern ToolGood choice!
I don't believe in taking the bull by the horns. I took a goat by the horns once and that was enough excitement for me.

Re: New Tractor Northern ToolI purchased a used JD 4115, 25 hp 4 wd diesel hydrostat, with a loader ,which makes its versatile .I am not a JD fan per say , however this tractor performs well . I have had it for just over a year, it had 613 hr on it and a friend's brother had purchased it new, his nursery business went belly up due to mismanagement and a loose elbow !
