BF Avery

Postby enmim » Sat Dec 04, 2010 2:07 pm

Hello all,
Does anyone know of some good BF Avery sites? Im going out to look at and maybe buy one today. I know almost nothing about these tractors, to the point of "where the heck are the serial#. Cool looking machine and anything that has wheel weights from Montgomery Wards is pretty freakin neato. Actually didn't the whole tractor come from Wards?

thanks in advance.

Thanks to Craigslist and a nice guy named Larry from Vacaville CA, I now have more tetanus inducing trash in my yard.

Try this http://www.bfavery.com/

Here a a little history on the "A" and "GG". http://www.ytmag.com/articles/artint252.htm It mentions Montgomery Ward.

If I read it right BF Avery took over another model that was marketed by Montgomery Ward.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

The serial number on the model A is stamped directly on the right frame rail near where it bolts to the rear end.

Serial number on Model "V" is on right frame just back of right brake petal.

Minni-Moline bought them out and used some of their tractors as M-M's

Try this website for information: Minneapolis-Moline.com for a discussion forum as well as model and serial number information. Also Peterson and Beamer's book, History of Minneapolis Moline Farm equipment should be available through your public library. It includes the history of BF AVERY and the purchase by Minneapolis Moline. It also includes all the model numbers and serial numbers. Hope this helps. Stan :)
