odd tractorCame across this tractor today and have never seen one like this. Can anyone tell me what it is and what you think it is worth in your eyes? It runs and has new rear tires but no brakes at all.
Have A Nice Day!
Re: odd tractorPossibly a Gibson with a hood from something else stuck on it?

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem. My wife says I don't listen to her. - - - - - - - - Or something like that! http://www.cubtug.com
Re: odd tractorIf it is a Gibson as BD suggested, the rear finals should have Gibson Longmont,CO Seattle, WA cast in them in raised letters.

Re: odd tractorLooks similiar to a Gibson model D pictured in "Standard Catalog of Farm Tractors". If it is a Gibson model D it originally had a Wisconsin model AEH engine.
Also check the rear tire size, they probably fit a Cub rim. I have an excuse. CRS.
Re: odd tractorI agree with the others, much of it looks like a Gibson with some additions.

Re: odd tractorIt dose had Gibson on the rear finals, i think on just one, is it worth anything?

Re: odd tractor
What's it worth? I do not have a clue. If it's like most of my working antique tractors, I have more money in them then I could sell them for. If the tires and rims fit a Cub and in good shape, they are probably worth more than the entire machine. What is the current owner asking for the machine? And are there any attachments? I have an excuse. CRS.
Re: odd tractorWeb search for Gibson model D and find quite a number of hits. Following site has a price for one in like new condition.

Re: odd tractorAre you buying or selling?
Re: odd tractorI am looking to buy it, but hav not got a price on it yet and yes it dose have a set of cult. and a homemade plow
Have A Nice Day!
Re: odd tractorAs a rule Gibson's are collectable and if in reasonable (restorable) condition would have a good value. The fiberglas hood indicates that some serious field modifications may have been done but hopefully nothing that can't be undone. If the original engine is there (and it appears to be) you would have a good candidate there.

Re: odd tractorGibson plows were pretty crude and looked homemade, so the plow could be factory.
