Generator starting problem solved

A few months ago I posted for suggestions to help solve my 32 hp Genrac 17.5 kw generator starting problems. It came factory equipped with a Lawn Mower type 250 amp battery which always seemed to be weak when starting, especially in cold weather. I recently modified the battery mounting platform to be able to use a small 475 cca battery (the same size in a CUB) and have not had starting problems since that time. The larger, more powerful battery spins the starter/engine about 2 times as fast as the lawn mower battery. Greatly reduced the frusteration level! Stan

Glad to know that solved the problem. I have the same basic rig and I will take a look at the size battery in mine. So far no problem but I believe in PM.

32 HP is a lot of motor for a lawn mower battery! I think you done good, Stan.
