john deere bdoes the john deere b have an electric start and do you drive it the same as any other tractor like just hit the clutch down and put it in gear also can it pull a haybine because i no it can pull a baler
Re: john deere bIt depends on the year as to the electric start.
No, the "B" Has a hand clutch. Very easy to use once you get used to it. Avoid panic situations until you do. A "B" will pull a 7' haybine. If you are used to the hand clutch, it is almost like live PTO. Best,

Re: john deere bAs Mike said, electric starting was an option from '39 on but many were hand start before '47 when electric start became standard equipment.
The hand clutch is easy to use but takes some getting used to if you are used to a foot clutch. One down side of the B when using haying equipment is the lack of live PTO. A good B is quite powerful for being a 2 plow tractor. I bush hog with a 84" offset Woods mower on my'52 and it has plenty of power to operate it, even in heavy foliage. 1929 Farmall Regular
