water weighs approximately 8 pounds per gallon, and the spray mixed with it will only change that a little, so take that into consideration, along with the weight of the spray rig. As has been stated, not just pulling it, but also controlling and stopping it in unexpected situations has to be taken into account. It isn't just the horsepower of the tractor, but also the weight. Our Farmall H which was only a 25 hp rated tractor (back when the ratings were real), frequently handled loads of the same size as our neighbors M, which was rated at 35 hp, because of the weights on our tractor. It had 3 sets of wheel weights, plus fluid in the tires where the M only had a single set of weights and no fluid. The H weighs 3900 pounds and had approximately 1900 pounds of weight added to the rear wheels (also had high compression kit) for a total of 5800 pounds, while the M weighs 4900 pounds plus 300 pounds of weight for a total of 5200 pounds. Our other H had a standard engine with only one set of weights.ranchruler wrote:thanks and what gallon sprayer would a 35hp pull
