Hello All. I've been trying to remember what tractor took the place of the 140. I know it was offered in a diesel. I remember the brochures when I was a kid for that tractor but can't remember the number. Also, if you know where I can find a picture of one, please let me know. Thanks.

It was the 274 Offset. Here is the only picture I found from a quick look on the web:

Do they use the same cultivators as the Super A - 140?

It is the model 144T. It is very similar, but I don't know how many parts were actually the same. There were some differences required where it attached to the tractor.

Thanks Jim! Was that tractor a flop for IH? You don't see many of them.

Probably.

I don't know how many were sold. Production numbers of Cubs and 140s had dropped pretty low when this replaced them. I think this sold in even lower numbers. It was only sold for 4 or 5 years so there are not many of them around. I have heard that some people were not happy with them, but no first hand knowledge.
