My great grandfather purchased a brand new Ford 600 (640) in 1955. He had it until he sold it abruptly in 1985. All I new about the buyer was that he either worked for the power or the phone company and possibly 2 small towns in S. Illinois where he may have lived. There were a few people from one of those cities at our local show in Indiana last weekend and I just happened to mention this to them. They took my information and said they would ask around. At 5pm on Tuesday evening the phone rang and when I answered the gentleman on the other end told me his name and said he had my great grandfather's tractor and all the implements and would sell it all back to me. I haven't seen any pictures yet or know what he will want for it all, but it doesn't matter.
Twenty six years have passed since it was sold and I'm sure this doesn't happend very often. Restoration to begin at once.

Brian, that was a stroke of luck! I'm glad you found it and I'm sure it'll be a beauty when it's done. Congrats!
I don't believe in taking the bull by the horns. I took a goat by the horns once and that was enough excitement for me. Barnyard Bash CubFest May 31 - June 1, 2013 Click here for info.

Excellent. That will be great to have a family tractor. I am pretty partial to those red belly Ford's.
