$250-$500 depending on attachments. There is a lot of difference in a THD and a TJD, which one is it?

I think he has a THD but i'm not sure i haven't looked closely at it, i just never paid attention to it when i was there last. I asked my wisconsin parts supplier in PA what its worth and he advised its worth from $300 to $500 tops depending how it runs and looks. I just want to feel comfortable when i make a solid offer. No attachments but a three vee belt pulley on the output shaft.

I made an offer once on a cub cadet 127 with parts. The guy told me it was a great machine with t5he broken forward/reverse lever were he had a pair of vise grips to operate it. But with all the extra attachments i offered more than it was worth like $650. He got mad and barked at me he could sell each part on ebay and make more than that. I told him thank you for your time and gooodby. A few weeks later he showed up on my door step saying he'd take the $650 now. I told him i wasn't interested anymore.

My point is i make an offer and if its not taken on the spot i turn and burn.

But another time here i looked at a case backhoe (older) and while he was operating it for me a hydraulic hose broke and mud looking brown oil came out. It looked so bad i turned and burned on that one too. I had visions of scored cylinders in my dreams.

I have one of them beasts and was offered $50.00 ---so it varies!---I paid $950.00 for the big 465-D (4 cylinder for my skid loader) and it only has less than 100 hours on it and looks/ runs like new,---so ya, the guy is too high! thanks;sonny

While browsing i noticed the v4 wisconsins going for $1,000. So the twin cylinder maybe worth $500 tops or even less. Its funny when i try to sell something I never seem to get my price but when i want something I always find a seller who thinks he has gold. Most of the time i will pay top dollar in some cases but thats rare. We all want a deal but also would like a fair price too. I did find a v4 wisconsin thats a fresh rebuild still in the crate for $1,300 locally too.

I paid $250 for a running THD off of a hi-cycle sprayer. I drove about 6hrs round trip to get it on top of that. A TJD would be worth a lot more as it crank is different and it has less vibration. I believe new TJD engines are over $4,000, but they are built to last like old ones.

I just picked up a Wards Wisconsin Air Cooled Gasoline Engine manual today at an estate sale. Manual covers both Wico and Farbanks Morse mags. It is in excellent condition and even came with a Montgomery Ward Service Warranty with an embossed MW emblem. I don’t know if anyone here is interested in it or not but I was going to put it on E-bay. If you are interested, shoot me a PM.
