blue implement dates and IH color number

i'm installing a hand lift on my '41 farmall A. the lift is off an after the war A and has a bit of blue paint on the handle only.
i thought the blue was a 48 or 49 paint decision, so i was thinking id paint all red on this lift, but i'd thought i'd ask the question.

Only information I have is for the Cubs, but when they first went into production lifts and implement were blue, with them going to red in 48. Since red requires quite a bit of pigment, and during wartime everything was in short supply, blue would have been logical.
