FINALLY found a cultipacker!

These things are just not real common here in New England. When I have seen them for sale they are usually anywhere from $800 to $1200. I have been checking Craig's List for just about a year now, and finally this one popped up yesterday for $350 about an hour away. Needless to say, I bought it. I was toying with the idea of building one myself, but I don't think I could build one much cheaper.

Gone are the days of packing my plots with the roller on the bottom of my flail mower!

Thanks for letting me share. I feel like a kid in a candy store right now.

Nice and what we used to call a double packer to boot. Dad had one he used to pull behind a disc, not sure why but it did leave a nice looking seedbed. It appears to have an expandable tongue, any idea why? Vern

Aah yes...I am doing food plots for whitetail deer. After plowing and disking, using a cultipacker really prepares a nice firm seedbed. The wheels also leave little hills and valleys that prevents small seeds (like clover) from getting washed away in rains. After seeding the plot, the cultipacker is used again to achieve nice seed to soil contact.

Not sure of the brand. I have to pick it up this weekend. I'll check that out

Probally to extend so you can turn when it is hooked in tandem with a drill. Although, I seldom use the drill anymore for grass and clover. I just broadcast the seed and run the cultipacker over it. I get really good germination.

On the road for 4 hours, but I got my cultipacker home yesterday. It's so heavy my loader wouldn't even lift it out of the back of my pick-up. Had a buddy come over with an industrial loader and that got it.

It's a McCormick-Deering and everything loosk top be in good shape. A few cracked wheels, but they are easily replaced.

Hi Mike,

I literally checked Craig's every day since last fall looking for one within a 150 radius of me. Spotted this one the day he listed it and was lucky to be the first guy to call.
