Cub Lovers Non-Cub Minifest!

Postby Barnyard » Sat Jun 30, 2012 12:41 pm

Rick and Andrew Spivet dropped in after more than eight hours on the road to pick up a few things. It's always a delight to meet with these two guys. We chatted about Cubs and they were kind enough to Cub Express some Cub goodies I found down in Georgia, but we had other machinery on the agenda.

Rick fires up his recently acquired "H" as he gets ready to load it for a trip to South Carolina.

Don't tell Mr. E, but Rick decided to surprise him by transporting this green glob of iron closer to the south.
I just finished fumigating that area of the barnyard to mask any evidence of an alien implement being here.

Checking the chains for a safe trip. I was loosening the chains on the "green thing". I calculate it should
drop off the trailer somewhere around Jellico

Loaded and ready. They slipped out of here early this morning but the heat was already working on us.

They should be near the Tennessee border by now. I wonder if that plow is still following them! Oh well, it was another great time with two great guys.

That H runs every bit as good as it looks. Steve H from the forum lives about an hour away from me and posted it on the forum for sale about a month or so before the Bash. I really wanted to pull the trigger but I already had Harley coming and didn't want to deplete the Cub fund. Once Steve dropped it off in the barnyard for Rick tpo pick up I started wishing I had gone ahead and bought it. It sure was hard having to go to the barn everyday and see it sitting there.

Rick sure did get a good one and I know Steve wishes he had room to keep it.

The H is in sunny South Carolina, making friends with his new little brothers. I think it likes SC already! I know Andrew likes the H already, he actually got out of bed before 10:00 this morning just to go for a ride!
It was great to see Barnyard and Rosie again, and I can't thank him enough for keeping the H until I could get my trip together. The H is now at the farm, and Andrew and I are back home. Driving 24 of the last 48 hours was not real fun, especially towing in mountains in the hottest weather in years. But all is well, and that darn green and yellow plow even made it all the way to my farm, as well.

Thanks, Rick!

Better take a look at Andrew's FB account. Seems some of your friends think that plow is pretty cool.

82" fender to fender, and the H was set most of the way in at 78". Plenty of room to spare!
