Fordson Major Diesel

Postby Kevin » Sat Apr 30, 2005 9:41 pm

I have a old Fordson major diesel loader backhoe and am in need of a new starter. Any ideas where to get the best deal? A local tractor dealer told me $345 for a new one does that seem high?
thanks for the help

it was rebuilt once before and was told it migh not last because there was some unrepairable damage inside. that was 7 or 8 years ago.
so I really need a new one. maybe i'm being cheap but that sure seemed expensive for a new starter.
thanks

I got a used starter & a new solinoid for my old ford diesel hoe from this guy Rippies a couple years ago and it was under $50.00 including S&H to CA. Here is his contact info that I just got off of his eBay auction page.

For other parts contact me by E-mail at rip@charterinternet.com. Rippee's Tractor Parts, Farmington, MO (573)431-5939.
Then came Bronson
