Sizing a sediment bowl

I need to find a sediment bowl for a Silver King tractor I have. It's rated at 20 HP so quite a bit more powerful than a Cub, although about the same size. Does a larger engine dictate a larger bowl? It seems like the bowls for the bigger IH's have a longer glass bowl, but it doesn't seem like that would make any difference unless the fittings and line allow greater flow to the carb. The carb is a Zenith with a 1" throat. Any thoughts on what I should get?

Thanks, Bob

Bob, My 404 has about the same size bowl as a Cub and runs with no problems.

The threading is right on a Cub sediment bowl, so I'll probably start with that to get things running. Thanks Bill.

Raymond, I need to get a carb kit first. The gasket was only a little better than the corrugated carboard one we found under the tranny cover. :D I also think I need to get the groove in the shifter ball filled in so I don't accidentally start out in 4th gear at 25 mph. Don't eat all the peanuts.

Bob, if you have a good spare Cub sediment bowl, it will work just fine on the Silver King. The bowl & 5/16 fuel line are considerably larger than a Cub requires and will be quite adequate for your 20 HP.

I'll eat a few of those boiled nuts! I love peanuts but can't chew the real thing anymore, boiled I can handle!

The only reason for the shorter smaller ones is that some units do not have room to install a longer one!---nothing to do with performance as far as I can tell! thanks; sonny
