I agree, the hose clamps are a little off - but ... I would have to measure it but I would think some 16ga or 18ga 1/2" metal banding could be formed similar to the headlight rings and fastened together with a small sa 6-32 machine screw and bolt? Or something like that.
Rudi; That's pretty much what I was thinking. I didn't feel like doing it right away, I wanted to see just how bad the hose clamps would look first. I will be making some clamps soon, probably when I need a break from some other project or when I get the other bulbs and make them for the rears. I will post a pic then to show the difference.

The hose clamp replacement bands are made and in place as well as the rear and rear rear lights installed and wired.

Now that they are all mounted and working I have another problem. I don't have enough electrical power to operate six 35 watt lights. One of the only things I could find wrong with the junked Lawn Boy was the wiring. Some of it was burnt and most of it was all mixed up. Apparently they fried the stator windings. It only puts out 10.5 volts AC and the manual says a minimum of 28 volts is needed.

Electrical --- hmmm .. that is one of my big bugaboos. Takes me forever to figure wiring out. I dislike it immensely. I am sure you will get that all solved as well.

Thanks Rudi; I don't think I'll be repairing the charging problem. I don't want to spend the money for a new stator and probably a new regulator/rectifier. The lights will run for a while on a fully charged battery. The motor only needs battery power to run the starter, so if the battery goes dead from the lights being on, it will keep running.
