Tom Clark out in Ohio asked me to post some pics for him of his recent completion of his Howard L-28. We first started to chat back in Nov of 2013 about his project, and it is now out the door and ready to go.

Here is the L-28 fresh out of the paint shop. No decals just yet. It was a little to cold, so Tom wanted to wait for warmer days ahead.

Here is his super nice Cub from the other side. A real winner, if I ever did see one.

Warm days came and it was time to slap on those decals:
Rear dirt shield.

Right side with bearing decal.

Thanks for sharing Tom. That really looks great. I think I'd cry the first time I put it down in the dirt.

What about the rest of you Howard L-28 guys? I haven't heard from any of you in a while?

Big Chief here, I have L28 with fast hitch. Has leak where drive shaft is on top of unit. Will soon be ordering parts, then complete restoration, then labels. Works fine, just needs some more attention. Your L28 is awesome! Thanks for sharing.

Got an L28 and a despeeder. All the extensions with it. Had to buy a fasthitch sword.

But I need info on the gauge wheel. Wheel diameter, tire size, wheel bracket dimensions. Mine Rotavator is missing the gauge wheel.

Will post pictures tomorrow. Thanks Red Cub for your help and knowledge

Also what is the correct paint? I have simplicity orange. Is that close

The gauge wheel is handy if the ground is hard, but once The ground is worked up it does not do much for controlling depth. The skirt, which is VERY sturdy, and the touch control are the main things for controlling depth. Yes, Simplicity orange is very close.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Good to know, thanks. The way the unit is setup offset I can see how it would help. Yes the shirt is sturdy and the way it gets set would keep tilling uniform. I would like to replace the wheel. Does yours have a gage wheel.
