It's going up for auction next Saturday just a few blocks from me. It obviously has not had a speck of paint on it for years. I have no idea when it was run the last time or if it is even free to turn over. Nobody else at the auction will know either. How much will it fetch would you guess?

At first I thought GP, but closer look, I think it looks exactly like the 1934 D that we had for many years!---I still have the head gasket and old rings from when dad re-built the engine in the early 60's!

Price? Lets just say better have good banker----OR some very deep pockets! thanks; sonny

Two different references from around 1995, $1000- average auction price at that time, in lowest condition. Same time frame, $5000- in excellent condition.

I have no Idea what the tractor will sell for, thinking Sonny is correct on taking out a bank loan.
I have an excuse. CRS.

From what can be seen in that picture, it looks to be in pretty good condition. It looks like there is a piece broken out of the rib on both front wheels, but other then that I don't see much else wrong. If the engine is free it will probably go for some pretty good money. If froze it will be some what less. I would think either way, probably over $2000 if it was well advertised.

The Model A tag throws me way off because it doesn't look like any A I have ever seen before...AO you say?

Being the John Deere guy here, I think what you are looking at is a AR. It is not a D nor a GP. Could possibly be a BR too but the cylinder block looks to big. The low seat and long fenders suggest it is an AO (orchard) but the above the hood breather and muffler suggest it's an AR which is a model A standard tread version. There are not a lot of AO's or AR's out there although they are not rare just not as many as row crop tractors.

$2000 would probably be a bargin. Let us know what it goes for....

Thanks Ricky, according to tractordata the serial number, if I'm reading it correctly, makes it about a 1936 AR. I'll try to let you know what it goes for. It doesn't sound like I'll probably be able to bring it home.

Well, I just watched it sell for $3000. As it turns out it was in running condition. I could have driven it home if I could have bought it...

Thanks for the update Steve. I would think that a pretty fair price for a runner.
