Edmund Hillary's Ferguson tractor to be put on view

Postby Dennis » Sun Mar 15, 2015 1:28 pm

An iconic Ferguson tractor used by New Zealand's most famous explorer has been secured for public display - at a hotel.

The hardy tractor used by Sir Edmund Hillary's party in its British Commonwealth Tran-Antarctic Expedition 1955-58 was won for public display.

I like the Fergusons but hate the color. I'd like to have the tracks for mine.
It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something.

That's cool. Sir Edmund was quite a hero. And don't forget Tenzing Norgay.

Dennis thanks for the info on a very rare MF used by Sir Edmund.
This tractor had a heat houser cab on it originally.
There were several of these units and one fell through the ice near the flow edge, never to found again.
This past winter a lady from Sweden drove a New Big MF to the South Pole to celebrate this same event 57 years later.
IHC made a quality machine and was leader of the pack.Let's keep them running,
