Postby jdeere86 » Thu Mar 10, 2016 5:20 pm

not sure what is going on ....drained coolant little over 2 gallons or so came out . changed thermostat ..capacity says 8.4 quarts ....mixed up 2 gallons..get first one in...half way thru second one it is over flowing the radiator ...filled the over fill tank and still have some left out of second gallon ....why couldn't I fit in the 2 gallons? do I gotta run it and add more or what do you think is going on?

probably air bound, get it warm enough for the thermostat to open and it will take more fluid

Not familiar with whatever tractor you are working, but most of them have 2 drains, one for the block and one for the radiator. Did you drain both, and did you verify how much came out?
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!
