I am in the process of acquiring a McCormick Deering 22-36. Does anyone on here have any experience with these? I don't have a photo of it but it's in about the same condition as the one in this stock photo:
The engine is free and it has a newly rebuilt magneto. Everything appears to be there and I have all the cleats for the rear wheels. I also have a reproduction manual and will go through all lubrication points and check fuel/spark/timing before I try to start it. Is there anything else I should look out for or any known common failure points?

Don't know about their weak points, but will say, "Congratulations" on your new acquisition. You have a nice project ahead of you (and a learning curve).

Thanks Stanton. I am considering leaving the patina as-is and just getting it mechanically sound. Looks like I will need to get some higher-rated jacks and jackstands

You bet. Getting a tractor mechanically sound before tackling the cosmetics is always a good plan.
