Up here in the northwest we never get too hot...until last weekend, so I bought an air conditioner. Highs this weekend are going to be in the 90's. Our windows are not conventional "double hung" They slide left to right so the mounting kit was worthless for installation, so I improvised.....yep, duct tape and garbage bags! Ahhhhhhhhhh

As close as you are to the ocean, wouldn't it be just as easy to mosy on down to the shore and sip a cold one while sitting in the Pacific?

I believe I am going to cut some blue foam I have here today and see if that works better.

Freebirds dont look bad compared to mine. Last week I cut a piece of plywood to cover My front door opening and then cut a hole in the plywood to fit the ahaaaa conditioner in. I cant use My door now but it sure did make life bearable in this/todays 113Â°s temperature. I will remove this in september or october.

Indy, I have been running a Water Frunace geo thermal system for about 17 years, and very happy with it, except no good without electricity. :lol:

Thanks Jonbron, knew someone had to go to more extreme than me. The blue foam worked well and fit in the window lip for a good seal.
