Does anyone know where I might be able to get blades for a Kub Klipper belly mower? Thanks

I believe that Sun-Master, the company which made Kub Klipper mowers, was bought out by Arts-Way. Does anyone know if Arts-Way is still viable and, if so, do they still make blades for the klipper mower? Any ideas where John might purchase blades. Also, for those familiar with the Kub Klipper mower, would blades for some other brand work on the Klipper? Dan

I had a Kub Klipper mower several years ago and still have a brand new belt and the shroud that mounted to the deck. I also went thru the process of trying to find blades and as it turned out, the Woods 42" blades would work but had to be shortened by a couple of inches and then the mounting hole had to be re-drilled. Since the blades were hardened, I had a local machine shop perform the surgery and they worked out fine. I had the old blades for a long time but I think I threw them out a couple of years ago. Thinking back, I believe the Klipper blades were a tad more thin than the Woods but they still fit btween the mounting flanges.

I have one that is similar but mine is yellow and is 48 in cut. I thought mine might be a woods.

Re: Kub Klipper
I recently sold my Kub Klipper but believe the blades could be easily made by a fab or weld shop. Mine had a long spreader bar with short blades bolted to each end. They were very simple and would be easily fabricated. A good fab shop will be able to suggest an appropriate steel for the blades.
I suppose if it were me, I'd take an old lawn mower (or even a new blade) and fab them out of one of those blades. That way I would have the correct steel and lawn mower blades are readily available and inexpensive.

Ricky - any time a response is added to a thread - even an old one like this it moves up to the top of the front page.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Re: Kub Klipper
And I like that feature of the forum, Bigdog.
I recently began the restoration of a three bladed fast hitch 60" Kub Klipper (Model K - 60 DFH) and although the bearings and blades look pretty good, I too was wondering where I would obtain replacements. Thanks to the forum and the sharing of fellow Cubbers, I now know where to look. Unfortunately, I'm not always successful locating info with the "search" function.
