IH Gas gauge

Postby RedNed » Sun Dec 03, 2006 8:11 pm

Here's my fuel gauge for my 350u. I fixed the glass after I fumbled it. I bought it off E-pay for about $50. Bad shape. Lots of work to restore it.Had lots of fun and it works great. Its a must have  . You still have to stand up to read it. Pain wiring every other gauge ,(no room). The little (open) decal, the original one was under lots of coats of paint.. That's where I knew where to put it.

Wow . . .looks terrific! Paint finish is super, and I like the stainless steel fasteners. Great detailing. Pretty soon you'll be ready for a new project, right?!!

I've seen those shutter decals (OPEN) in a lot pf places, but that is the first one I have seen on a gas gage.

I know. Think they did that at the factory or dealer?Don't think the farmer was as looney as me.I remember when I stripped my hood on my cub. Under all the layers of paint, rust . patches of discolor squares and rectangles. You got them all right. What do ya think? Have to go to wisconsin historical society to find one dem dare pictures.
Just did a archive on E-bay check this out (tll them to turn that around )

Must have been whoever repainted the tractor that the gauge came off of.
